ATRC meetings scheduled

The Alabama Tombigbee Regional Commission will hold a joint meeting of the Citizens' Technical and Policy committees at 10 a.m., Dec. 5, in the Alabama Tombigbee Room at Alabama Southern Community College's Thomasville campus at 30755 Highway 43.

The Regional Planning Organization (RPO) has established a transportation planning process in the rural areas of southwest Alabama and serves as a formal link between the ALDOT and the local governments.

The counties included in the RPO are Clarke, Choctaw, Conecuh, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Sumter, Washington and Wilcox. The RPO provides government officials and citizens in these counties an opportunity to advise the ALDOT on road, bridge and other transportation projects.
