Food drive

Tiger Den No. 7 will host a food drive for the Salvation Army from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 1, in front of Wal-Mart in Thomasville.

Band Booster meeting

Thomasville High School Band Booster meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the THS band room.

Historical society to meet

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 28, at Grove Hill Town Hall. The program will be a "show and tell" format. Those attending are encouraged to bring an item of historical or local interest to display at the meeting. The public is invited.

Letters from Santa

Santa has agreed to help out the Thomasville TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapter by writing letters to good little boys and girls. The cost if $4 per letter or $6 for a two-sibling combo. Deadline is Dec. 1. Mail order form (or include child's name, age, gender, address, good deed, siblings name and recent accomplishment) and payments to TOPS c/o Susan Rotton, 630 Highland Circle, Thomasville, AL 36784 or call 334-636-4227 for more information.

Alabama coolers

The Boys and Girls Club has Alabama insulated coolers, featuring Alabama's last national championship game along with Gene Stallings, available in time for Christmas for $5. For more information call the Boys and Girls Club at 334-636-5402.

Joshua Hill memorial fund

A fund has been set up for the family of Joshua Wayne Hill of Thomasville who was killed in a vehicle accident. Memorials may be made to Sweet Water State Bank for the Joshua Hill Children's Trust Fund.

ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636-9985.

Story hour at the library

The Thomasville Public Library has openings in the story hour programs for three-year olds and in the K-fourth grade class. Three-year olds' (Reading Bees) story hour is held each Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The K-fourth graders (Dragonflies) meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., each Tuesday. These programs require registration, so anyone interested is asked to come by the library.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.
