Burie 'Bull' Dunning Jr.

Burie "Bull" Dunning Jr., 63, of Dixons Mills died November 7, 2007.

Mr. Dunning was born April 23, 1944, in Dixons Mills to Burie and Pearline Dunning Jr. He joined Rockbabylon Baptist Church at an early age and attended Marengo High School where he found the love of his life Hendrietta M. Cunningham. In 1968 he moved his family to Chicago where he worked for Sears Roebuck and Company. Mr. Dunning returned home to Dixons Mills with his family in October 1987, after which he worked for Linden Lumber until he retired.

The funeral was held at 12 noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, at Star Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Sweet Water with Elder John H. Wright officiating and Sister Katrina H. Sewell mistress of order. Burial was in Polly Robinson Cemetery in Dixons Mills.

Mr. Dunning is survived by his wife, Hendrietta M. Dunning; five children, Howard (Angela) Dunning, Carlton (Syritta) Dunning, Eric (Elaine) Dunning, Retoni (Kenneth) Pritchett and Burie (Latrina Dunning Jr., all of Dixons Mills; two brothers, Roosevelt (Lula) Dunning and Clemon Dunning; three sisters, Dorothy (Albert) Sutherland, Lois (David) Young and Aritha Jean Cowan Johnson; one sister-in-law, Laverne Dunning; three aunts, Lee Ella Lockett, Needa Mae Lockett and Viola Quinney; one uncle, Arthur D. (Frankie) Quinney; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Dunning was preceded in death by two brothers, Ezell and I.J. Dunning.

Pallbearers were The Cazanovaz.

Gordon Thomas Kelley

Gordon Thomas Kelley, 95, of Thomasville died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Thomasville Nursing Home.

Mr. Kelley was born April 4, 1912, in Thomasville. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Springfield Methodist Protestant Church.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 23, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Mark Lambert officiating. Burial was in Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville.

Mr. Kelley is survived by three sons, Boyce G. (JoAnn) Kelley of Thomasville, Thomas G. (Laretta) Kelley Mobile and Billy G. (Bonnie) Kelley of Huntsville; two daughters, Audrey (Gary) Beckner and Sandra Elaine Kelley, both of Huntsville; one brother, Lonnie Kelley of Selma; four sisters, Mary Baugh of Fulton, Mable Truell of Mobile, Nommie Clark of Fulton and Eddis Williamson of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice G. Kelley; and one son, Bobby D. Kelley.

Pallbearers were Thomas Kelley, Scott Kelley, Micky Courtney, Harold Smith, Roy Carlisle and Don Young.

George W. Lewis

George W. Lewis, 50, died November 21, 2007.

Mr. Lewis was born Feb. 22, 1957 to Willie and I'Neal Lewis. He was a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Dixons Mills with Elder John L. Dees officiating and Sister Carrie M. Hudson mistress of order. Burial was in Shiloh Church Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Pecola Greene-Lewis of Dixons Mills; four children, Paula Greene of Butler, Audrey (Jeremy) McIntosh of Sweet Water, London Greene of Dixons Mills and Jeremy Allen of Pensacola; four sisters, Minnie B. (Earl) Law, Gwendolyn Lewis, Jessie Mary (Tec) Lewis and Brenda (Johnnie) Adams, all of Dixons Mills; three brothers, Larry (Sylvia) Lewis, Lemmie D. Lewis and Glen Lewis, all of Dixons Mills; and five grandchildren, Sean McIntosh II, Akiyah McIntosh, Avery Lucy, Quadarius Greene and Shakira Greene.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Lewis, Ida Lewis and Rosa Davis; and three brothers, Willie Earl Lewis, Prince Albert Lewis and Mack Lewis.

Necie Harper Marsh

Necie Harper Marsh, 83, died November 8, 2007.

Mrs. Marsh was the third of 12 children born to Armstead and Ola Harper of Marengo County. She was a teacher in Longmire before moving to Michigan in 1946. She was the lead culinary chef for the mayor of Grosse Pointe. Later she worked at Ford Motor Company and ran as a union committee woman. She was instrumental in organizing St. Marks Lutheran Church in Detroit where she was an active member of several organizations, was a Sunday school teacher, in the senior choir, ladies guild and president of the ladies aid. After retirement she and her family returned to Kimbrough and became members of Epiphany Lutheran Church.

The funeral was held at 12 noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, at Canaan Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Anne Manie with the Rev. Prentice D. Marsh officiating.

Mrs. Marsh is survived by her husband of 63-1/2 years, the Rev. William H. Marsh; two daughters, Carolyn Marsh and Violet Johnson; one son, the Rev. Prentice D. (Yolanda) Marsh; three siblings, Nashville Harper of Detroit, Mae Frances Adams of Portage, Mich. and William L. (Judy) Harper of Detroit; eight grandchildren, Rodney Marsh, Stacey Marsh (Sean) MacDonncha, William D. Marsh, Teddra (Carey) Williams, Beletie Marsh (Che) Womack, Tiffany (Christopher) Purnell, Prentice Marsh II and Elizabeth Marsh; three extended grandchildren Tatisa Young (Charles) Joiner, Charles Young and Shantel Young; 21 greatgrandchildren; and two greatgreat grandchildren.

George Shannon McCrory

George Shannon McCrory, 58, died Thursday, November 15, 2007.

Mr. McCrory was a native of Clarke County. He was employed with Kenyon Concrete Pumping in Summerville, S.C. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, was a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Christian Adults Sunday School Class.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Stephenson officiating.

Mr. McCrory is survived by his wife, Deborah "Debbie" Lemonie McCrory; one daughter, Meghan (James) Jones of Summerville, S.C.; sons, Douglas Martin (Marie) McCrory of Boiling Springs, S.C. and Joshua McCrory of Summerville, S.C.; sisters, Donna Anderson of Jackson, Eyvonne Newton of Coffeeville, Vickie Peters of Thomasville, Becky Evans of Arlington and Vangie Waltmann of Coffeeville; and grandsons, Ethan Harold McCrory and Deacon Joshua McCrory.

Mr. McCrory was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Minnie Mae Hare McCrory.

Jannie Bell McCoy Rearden

Jannie Bell McCoy Rearden, 55, of Grove Hill, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Rearden was born Thursday, March 13, 1952 in Dickinson. She was a truck driver and was a member of Forest Baptist Church.

Graveside service was 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill with the Rev. Jack Wright officiating.

Mrs. Rearden is survived by her husband, William C. Rearden of Grove Hill; two daughters, Sandra Harvell of Brewton and Virginia Loree Rearden of Boston, Mass.; her mother, Doris M. McCoy of Fulton; three brothers, James Robert McCoy Jr. of Enterprise, Miss., Johnny Wayne McCoy of Seyrene and Jack McCoy of Stonewall; five sisters, Elizabeth Harvell of Fulton, Debra Dailey of Fulton, Anell Purifoy-Houser of Pine Hill, Lillie Mae Jones of Vanceboro, N.C. and Robbie McCoy of Vanceboro, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rearden was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Diane Rearden.

Pallbearers were John Dailey, James Dailey, John Houser, Adam Nordan, James Rober McCoy III and Chris Purifoy.

Jimmy Ray O'Bryant

Jimmy Ray O'Bryant, 69, of Thomasville, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. O'Bryant was born Sept. 19, 1938 in Gordo. He retired after 45 years as a funeral director and was the owner of O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville and Linden. Mr. O'Bryant was a retired United Methodist minister and was a member of Thomasville United Methodist Church. He was a member of Oliver Lodge No. 334 F&AM in Thomasville and was an active member of the Southwest Alabama Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Thomasville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.

Mr. O'Bryant is survived by his wife, Juanita S. O'Bryant of Thomasville; two sons, Jimmy R. (Ruby) O'Bryant Jr. and Jeff A. (Nekol) O'Bryant, all of Thomasville; one daughter, Mary Carol (Ken) Clayton of Thomasville; one sister, Geraldine O. Peek of Leeds; 13 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Mr. O'Bryant was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Logan Mark Sims.

Pallbearers were Bill Harrison, John Harrison, Billy Phillips, Bob Ingram, Ralph Smyly, Hardie Kimbrough, Gene Overstreet and Norman Loper.

Sandra Englett Hall Soutullo

Sandra Englett Hall Soutullo, 63, of Thomasville died Monday, November 19, 2007, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

Ms. Soutullo was born April 21, 1944 in Selma. She worked as a garden center associate at Wal-Mart and was a member of Thomasville Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Dr. James Best and Dr. Robert Kirkland officiating. Burial was in Sunny South Baptist Church Cemetery in Sunny South.

Ms. Soutullo is survived by two daughters, Janet Overstreet and Sherry Cribb, both of Thomasville; two sisters, Becky Brasell of Camden and Amee Englett of Thomasville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Zachary Wilson, Mike Brasell, Tracy Brasell, John Soutullo, Jamie Soutullo and DeWayne Soutullo.
