Murder, manslaughter trials set to be heard

Separate murder, manslaughter and attempted murder cases are on the criminal jury term docket for Clarke County Circuit Court that starts Monday, Dec. 3.

Trenton Juawan McClain is facing murder charges. He allegedly shot Jamaury Whittaker with a shotgun in the neck and head Sept. 1, 2006. The two were at a hang-out on Fool's Acre Road in the Gainestown area and it is believed the altercation stemmed from a prior argument.

Byron Lakeith Puller is on the docket for manslaughter. He is accused of shooting Lashavin Johnson April 19, 2006 with a Ruger .45.

Justin Trayvon Myles faces two charges of attempted murder. Derrick West and Travis Stubbs were sitting in a vehicle in Thomasville when Myles was said to have pulled up beside them.

Myles then allegedly got into the back seat of the vehicle and shot West in the chest with a handgun. He is also said to have fired twice at Stubbs. West was able to walk to a nearby residence and was taken to the hospital. Stubbs ran into the woods.
