Roy Waite with EMA speaks at Worthwhile Club's November meeting

The November 14 meeting of the Worthwhile Club was held in the clubroom. The president, Jane Erikson, called on Levinna Brown to lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. She thanked the hostesses Ann Harrison, Dorine Hawk and Maggie Smith. The theme for the decorations and food was Thanksgiving. Ann Harrison gave the devotional based on autumn and Thanksgiving.

Marilyn Morgan introduced the guest speaker, Roy Waite who represented the Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security. He stated Clarke County has 501 emergency personnel plus personnel from public works and utility operations and the number one mission of the EMA is to save lives. Resource management consists of three levels - local, state and federal.

The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given and approved. Order of business followed.

The meeting adjourned with the reading of the club collect.
