On Wednesday, Nov. 7 and Thursday, Nov. 8, two students at Thomasville High School who are enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program with Alabama Southern received their OSHA certification. Currently 10 students are enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Program with Alabama Southern and at Thomasville High School.
The two students who received certification are seniors at Thomasville High School and are currently taking classes at ASCC under Gene Tindle's machine tool technology program. Brian McIntosh, the welding instructor, also had 18 students who completed the course as well as an additional nine machine tool technology students who also became OSHA certified. This was a 10 hour Construction Safety and Health Course taught by Ron Glover who is the safety director for RUST, INC. His assistant is Janet Glover. Two instructors from Reid State Community College also attended the class. Two students are on scholarships provided by the city of Thomasville that allows a number of the students to attend courses at ASCC through the dual enrollment program.
