OBITUARIES Betty Jo Newton Betty Jo Newton, 56, of Grove Hill, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Mobile Infirmary. Mrs. Newton was born March 5, 1951 in Selma. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Thomasville Church of God. The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with the Rev. Benny Crawford officiating. Burial was in Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill. Mrs. Newton is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Newton of Thomasville; two sons, Danny Gates Jr. of Creedmore, N.C. and Kenneth Gates of Grove Hill; one daughter, Connie Kearley of Brunswick, Ga.; two sisters, Rosemary Guy of Thomasville and Eunice Girlie of Selma; three brothers, Billy Ray Watford of Grove Hill and Charles Watford and James Cecil Watford, both of Millbrook; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Greg Lewis, Michael Phillips, Jason McGee, Jeremy Ogle, Jonathan Ogle and Larry Joe Rotton. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed. Eunice Cody Morrow Eunice Cody Morrow, 85, of Grove Hill, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Morrow was born August 7, 1922, in Marengo County. She was a retired secretary and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Selma. She was a member of the Selma Jets Camping Club and the National Campers and Hikers Association. The graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with the Rev. Maurice Dyess officiating. Mrs. Newton is survived by one sister, Lois Ruth Davis of Fulton; and one brother, James Miller Ross of Sweet Water. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed.
