Medicare drug program enrollment opens Dec. 22 Medicare recipients as well as caregivers will be able to enroll qualified individuals in the 2008 Medicare Prescription Drug Program from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, in the western room of the Jackson Steakhouse in Jackson. The special consultation session is the last date for new enrollment or making changes in existing coverage with the benefit being effective Jan. 1. The deadline for 2008 enrollment or changes is Dec. 31, however benefits will not be effective until Feb. 1.
