Shopping locally helps us all
OUR VIEW
As Christmas Day draws ever closer, we could all use a little reminder to try to shop locally.

Thomasville has many wonderful shops and businesses right here in town creating a wide array of offerings of fine goods.

Most statistical studies indicate that 80 percent of the money spent with locally owned businesses stays in that community. Anywhere from 20 percent to 40 percent stays in the community when spent with chain owned or operated stores.

Money spent out of town may never be recovered. So take a look close to home first. You'll also be rewarded with a shorter drive and the friendly faces of folks you know.

And remember, the real reason we celebrate this time of year has nothing to do with going out and buying presents and wrapping papers.

We hope you enjoy your holidays and wish you a safe and Merry Christmas.
