Hudson-Sewell to receive degree Katrina Hudson-Sewell, a 1991 graduate of Marengo High School, will graduate with honors from Faulkner University, Montgomery at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21. She will receive a bachelor of business administration degree. She currently holds an associate degree in applied science in business administration. Hudson-Sewell is the daughter of Bessie Hudson of Dixons Mills and the late Jimmie Dee Hudson. She is the mother of two daughters, Ciera Hudson and Jashana Sewell. She is the granddaughter of Leola Hudson Jowers, A.G. Jowers, the late Dave and Maggie Monghan and the late John Hudson Sr. She is a member of the Star Bethel P.B. Church in Sweet Water where she serves as youth president and choir director. She is also a member of the Ladies of Distinction Social Organization in Sweet Water. She is currently employed with Choctaw County Board of Education as an accounts payable clerk. She plans to seek a master degree in management of information systems in the spring. Hudson-Sewell encouraged all young people to stay in school and receive an education.
She said, "A motto to live by that the Marengo High School Class of 1992 presented was, 'The lack of self confidence yields twice the defeat, with it you're a winner before you start'. With that said, in order to succeed you must first believe in yourself. When others say that you can't, let that be your determination to prove them wrong."
