City league basketball registration

The Thomasville Recreation Department will hold registration for the city league basketball program at the new recreation office, 2285 Bashi Road, formerly the Lower Dixie Timber building Thursday, Jan. 10 and Friday, Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and again on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program is for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14, with the child being 7 on or before March 1, 2008, and no older than 14 on or before March 1, 2008. A fee of $35, proof of age and parental permission is required at regiastration. For more information call the recreation deartment at 334- 636-9053 ext. 10 or 334-636- 1629 ext. 10.

1978 PHHS class reunion meeting

The third class reunion meeting for the Pine Hill High School class of 1978 will be held at 4 p.m., Dec. 30, at St. Lewis Primitive Baptist Church in Yellow Bluff. Medical fund

A medical fund for cancer surgery and treatment has been opened at First United Security Bank for Phyliss and Eric Leeton Sr. He is out of work and facing huge medical expenses. Donations are tax deductible.

Joshua Hill memorial fund

A fund has been set up for the family of Joshua Wayne Hill of Thomasville who was killed in a vehicle accident. Memorials may be made to Sweet Water State Bank for the Joshua Hill Children's Trust Fund.

ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636-9985.

Story hour at the library

The Thomasville Public Library has openings in the story hour programs for threeyear olds and in the K-fourth grade class. Three-year olds' (Reading Bees) story hour is held each Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The K-fourth graders (Dragonflies) meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., each Tuesday. These programs require registration, so anyone interested is asked to come by the library.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.
