      The Clarke County Sheriff's Office delivered Christmas gifts to children who may not be as fortunate as others this Christmas. The deliveries were made possible by the donations of toys and gifts by citizens of Clarke County.

Heating bill help available
      The Community Action Agency of Baldwin, Escambia, Clarke, Monroe and Conecuh counties is processing applications to assist low-income families with their heating bill. The program extends through the winter months assisting household with an allotment established by the federal government.

      The Thomasville Police Department arrested Martin Charnick Friddle on a Clarke County warrant for two charges of burglary first degree and arrested Margie Thompson on one charge of burglary first degree on a warrant from Clarke County.

Springfield Church brings Christmas to nursing home
      The residents at Thomasville Nursing home said a big thank you to Springfield Methodist Protestant Church and all the volunteers for coming and celebrating Christmas with them recently. The residents and staff enjoyed the singing and refreshments provided.
