Lady Tigers even mark at 2-2

The Thomasville High School Lady Tigers traveled to Butler on Tuesday, December 18, and defeated the Choctaw County High School Lady Tigers 50 - 38. It marked the second time this season that the Thomasville Ladies had out gunned the Ladies from Choctaw County having beaten them a week earlier at home. The win also served to even their season record at 2 - 2.

In the game, Thomasville out scored their host in every quarter on their way to the 12 point win. Kyera Rowe was the scoring leader in the game for Thomasville pumping in 12 points. Following her were; Kierra Westbrook with nine points, Britney Stallworth with seven points, and Brianna Penn with five. Others contributing to the total included: Ashley Crawford and Candrea Welch with four points each; Desirea Bettis, Tamara Robinson, and Nicole Washington with two points apiece; and Twarner Witherspoon with one point. Rowe was also the leader on the boards grabbing seven rebounds followed by Robinson with four. The trio of Bettis, Stallworth, and Twarner Witherspoon led the team in assists with three apiece.

Over on defense Twarner Witherspoon led the charge with six steals followed by Nicole Washington with four and Ashley Crawford with three.

The Lady Tigers are next scheduled to be in the Clarke County Invitational Tournament which begins on Thursday, December 27, and runs through Saturday, December 29. Their first game is slated for Thursday at 3:30 PM against Leroy.
