Carroll-Brunson wed in Fulton church
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Roger Carroll Bonnie Carol Brunson and Brian Roger Carroll were united in marriage Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Fulton. Rev. Michael Bedsole performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. Dr. John Copeland performed the opening prayer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ray Brunson of Grove Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bernard Faile and the late Bernard Faile and the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Brunson. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Carroll of Knoxville, Tenn. He is the grandson of Mrs. Leo Skrec and the late Leo Skrec and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Carroll.
The entrance of the church was lined with fall mums and greenery. The front doors of the church were adorned with vine swags intertwined with fall foliage and berries. Amber McNider presided at the bride's book which held a miniature fall arrangement.
In the window recesses, fall foliage surrounded wrought iron candle holders which contained orange candles. One of the focal points was a large arrangement of Bells of Ireland, pin cushion protea, Rover mums, orange gerbers, hypericum berries, Tailsman snaps, yarrow, safari sunsets, bronze fujis, bronze, yellow and green buttons, orange miracle roses, and an assortment of greenery flanked by Boston ferns on wrought iron stands. The organ and piano railings were outlined with vine fall foliage garlands. Hanging from the sound system balcony was a fall vine wreath which the bride chose to remember her paternal grandmother. The family pews were marked with a vine basket draped with fall foliage.
Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Michael Bedsole, pianist; Michael Boggs, guitarist and soloist; and Hamilton Gittings, soloist. Vocal selections were "How Beautiful," "The Lord's Prayer," and "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us." A scripture reading was read by Mrs. David Stinchcum of Americus, Ga., a friend of the bride. The scripture selection was from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 which was chosen by Rev. Jamie Letcher.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless style gown of diamond white satin with an empire waist. The beaded bodice was embroided with pearls and sequins. The back bodice featured the same style of embroidery as the front with buttons aligning the back. The back featured a pleated bustle which followed into a bridal train highlighted by the reembroidered sequins along the trim line. For her headpiece, the bride chose a comb of sequins which featured an elbow length blusher. She carried a bouquet of hand held Bells of Ireland, flame orange mini calla lilies, hypericum berries, safari sunsets, orange miracle roses, pin cushions, and protea surrounded by salav leaves. Also in her bridal bouquet were an engagement ring worn by her maternal grandmother and a mother's ring worn by her paternal grandmother.
Hamilton Gittings of Auburn attended the bride as maid of honor. The bride's other attendants were Mrs. Thomas Blaylock Jr. of Grove Hill, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Russell Brunson of Smiths Station, sister-in-law of the bride, Alicia Carroll of Toledo, Ohio, sister of the groom, Keesha Skinner of Dothan, friend of the bride, and Miss Tara York of Franklin Tenn., friend of the bride. The bride was also accompanied by Whitney Faile of Monroeville, cousin of the bride, as a junior bridesmaid. They wore a tissue taffeta strapless tea length dress in sable. The dress featured a wide camel sash loop in back which cascaded into tails. They carried bouquets of flaming orange calla lilies. The bride's niece, Morgan Brunson of Smiths Station, served as the flower girl.
Ben East of Maryville, Tenn. served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Jim Berrier of Knoxville, Tenn., friend of the groom, Russell Brunson of Smiths Station, brother of the bride, Michael Sayne of Knoxville, Tenn., friend of the groom, Jeffrey Usman of Nashville, Tenn., friend of the groom and Nathan Ward of Nashville, Tenn., friend of the groom. Oliver East of Maryville, Tenn, friend of the groom, served as the ringbearer.
Mrs. Samuel Fendley of Grove Hill decorated the church and Mrs. Thomas Blaylock Jr., of Grove Hill directed the wedding.
Following a honeymoon trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico the couple will reside in Nashville, Tenn.
Reception
The reception was hosted by the bride's parents at the First Baptist Fulton Christian Life Center. The entrance was lined with fall mums and greenery. Upon entrance to the reception, guests were greeted to a wedding portrait of the bride. The bride's book was also located in the foyer entrance.
The tables in the reception area were adorned with wrought iron pumpkins with orange candles intertwined with fall foliage. The bride's table held a three-tiered butter cream cake. An arrangement of fall flowers adorned the top of the cake. The groom's cake was a three-tiered chocolate cream cheese pound cake. Coffee, oreo balls, pub mix and toasted pecans were also served on the groom's table.
A variety of hors d'oeuvres consisting of chicken fingers with a variety of sauces, bacon wrapped sausages, smoked ham, turkey and cheese croissants, chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches, fruit and vegetable display, chocolate fountain, cheese straws, spinach dip, corn dip, and a punch fountain were served throughout the afternoon. A children's table held cupcakes, candy pumpkins, candy corn, M&M's, gold fish and coloring books for the children to enjoy.
Bridesmaid's luncheon
Mrs. Thomas Blaylock Jr.'s home was the setting for a bridesmaid luncheon honoring the bride and her bridesmaids on Friday, Nov. 16.
The tables were covered with white linen cloths draped with brown satin sashes. Each table held a miniature fall arrangement.
Guests were served an assortment of salads. They consisted of chicken, fruit, and broccoli walnut salads accompanied by an array of crackers. For dessert, a miniature bride's cake was served. Atop the cake was a fall foliage arrangement. During the luncheon, the bride chose this time to present each bridesmaid with a gift.
The luncheon was hosted by Mrs. Allen Jordan, Mrs. Samuel Fendley, and Mrs. Thomas Blaylock, Jr.
After-rehearsal dinner
Dr. and Mrs. Roger Carroll entertained the wedding party with a dinner at The Southern Magnolia on Friday night following the rehearsal. The tables were decorated with miniature fall daisies. Guests were able to choose from the menu for their choice of dinner selection. During the evening, several toasts were made to both the bride and groom.
