Thomasville Police Chief Billy Hicks and Ronald Jowers are in stable condition after a violent car accident in Hicks' patrol car Saturday night. But Hicks could suffer from longterm paralysis. Grace Megginson held on to her District 1 seat on the Thomasville city council, defeating Ken Nichols in a run-off election Tuesday. Counting absentee ballots, Megginson received 97 votes and Nichols received 71 votes. The total votes cast were 168 compared to 162 total votes cast in the municipal election held in August. More...

We swapped our Toyota 4x4 for a Hyundai cargo van, which will carry six Americans and their luggage, or up to 20 Ghanaians, four goats, three Guinea fowl and two chickens. We will use the van to help a team of volunteer missionaries from Texas during their 10 days of prayer walking, training, evangelism and crusades. More...

Congratulations to the Tigers for defeating Andalusia Friday night! The drama team will be putting on its performance of Annie on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Performances will be in the civic center's auditorium.
