The Southwest Alabama Chamber of Commerce is looking for this year's Christmas Parade Grand Marshal.

Look around our community and you are sure to see someone who deserves recognition, although he or she doesn't seek it.

It may be your child's youth baseball coach, who's also a Scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and a volunteer for a number of other worthy causes. It may be the person who spends a great deal of time organizing a huge event for charity each year. Or perhaps it is the individual who never takes the lead role on a project, but who always is working in the background, the person who can be counted on in a crunch.

If you know of someone who's deserving of recognition for their unselfish commitment to church, community, civic responsibility, and/or social causes, nominate him or her for to be the grand marshal of the next Christmas Parade.

If you'd like to nominate someone for this honor, please send a letter stating the reasons you feel this person should be chosen to the Southwest Alabama Chamber of Commerce. The nominations should be received by the Chamber office no later than Dec. 1.
