THS wins three in Christmas tournament

The Thomasville High School boys' varsity basketball team won all three of their games in the Jackson High School Christmas Tournament to improve to 7 - 0 on the season. All three of the wins came against teams from the Bahamas who were participating in the Jackson tournament as part of a swing through the South.

The first Tiger win came on Thursday, December 20, when they defeated Bahamas High School 61 - 50. Tysean Thompson was the scoring leader in the game for the Tigers racking up 21 points. Daril Jackson was next with 12 points followed by James White with eight and Antron Holt with six. Jackson also added 10 rebounds to lead the team in that category.

Thomasville picked up its second win of the tournament on Friday, December 21, when they blasted C. R. Walker High School 84 - 54. Tysean Thompson matched his Thursday total of 21 points to lead the Tigers in scoring again. Tacory Marshall was next in the Tiger point machine pump- ing in 14 points while Daril Jackson added 12. Marshall was the leader on the boards ripping off 10 rebounds.

The Tigers finished the three game sweep on Saturday, December 22, taking game three against C. V. Bethel High School 74 - 68. Tysean Thompson continued to have the hot hand for the Tigers scoring 31 points to set the pace in the game. Daril Jackson was next for the Tigers with 21 points while Alex Buford chipped in 10.

Next up, the Tigers will return home for an area matchup with the Escambia County Blue Devils on Friday, January 4. As is usually the case the varsity game will be the third game of the day with the Tiger junior varsity and the Lady Tigers playing games before them. The first game of the tripleheader is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
