LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Boys and Girls Club offers thanks Dear Editor: The Boys and Girls Club had a wonderful year. We have had remodeling done to our building, had wonderful support from lots of businesses and supporters, but best of all our membership for the 2007-2008 school year is climbing each week. We have an ADA of 77, with an enrollment of 105. There are lots of new programs available for the children also. Thanks to the Alabama Arts Council we will have the opportunity to offer drama and art classes to the children beginning in early 2008. In February we will celebrate our 10th year of service. Read The Thomasville Times for more information on this event. With a new year beginning we will begin our new membership drive. The membership fee is $25 per year, per child and $20 per month. We open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. We follow the same calendar as the Thomasville City School System. Anyone interested in our program or any questions on our program can call 334-636-5402 or come by our club on Adams Avenue. We are located beside the Thomasville Police Department. Cindy Ogle Boys and Girls Club of America Thomasville Salvation Army thanks volunteers Dear Editor: Thank you for another successful year of Salvation Army Bell Ringing! All of the hundreds of volunteers worked hard and exceeded our goal. Giving was down nationwide, but the generous giving of the people in Clarke County and surrounding areas was awesome. We received well over $50,000, which was our goal. It reminds me of Ephesians 3:20 which says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." This generous giving will allow more people to receive help than ever before. Our slogan is "Doing the Most Good" and this is what we are all about. Thank you again to each one who played a part in this effort. We especially thank the businesses, which allowed us to stand in front to ring. They are Wal-Mart, Norman's, Super Foods, Dirt Cheap, Goody's, Dunn's Exxon, Fast Track, Pic-N-Sav and Walgreens. A special thanks is also extended to our school students who participated in such a generous way. We also appreciate the publicity of the media. They did a super job of coverage this year. May God bless each of you in this New Year. Bobbie Overstreet Volunteer Bell Ringing Coordinator
