By Kathryn F. Pickard Contributing Writer

Officers conducting a search warrant at a Toddtown residence found drugs hidden in a child's toy and seized over $1,500 worth of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia Friday, Jan. 4.

Through surveillance and undercover operations Corporal Steve Carlisle, narcotics investigator for the Clarke County Sheriff's Department, had been investigating what was believed to be illegal drug activity at the home of Anthony King at 280 Sunny Hill Road.

The search of the residence revealed a half cookie of crack cocaine with a street value of $450; three crack rocks valued at $60, crack cocaine valued at $160, 20 individually wrapped for distribution bags of marijuana valued at $500, a large bag of marijuana valued at $500, two sets of scales, baggies and rolling papers.

The large bag of marijuana was found in a stuffed duck that a two-year-old living in the house played with. The case was turned over to the Department of Human Resources and the child was tested for narcotics in his system.

Those arrested at the scene include Anthony Dewayne King Jr., Sharrick Bonner, Stephanie Pugh and George Pugh.

Corporal Carlisle, CCSD Chief Investigator Ron Baggette, Corporal Ronald Robinson, Deputy Joe Allen, Deputy Mark Leon, Deputy Rob Bost, Deputy Patrick Champion, Chief Clint Harrell from Coffeevillle Police Department, agents from the First Judicial Task Force and the Fourth Judicial Task Force and DA Investigator Don Lolley conducted the search warrant.

"This is an ongoing investigation and there may be more arrests. Corporal Carlisle and the other deputies did an outstanding job with this effort. We will continue our efforts to take drugs off the street," said Investigator Baggette.
