Diamond Club meeting

The Thomasville High School Diamond Club will meet Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m., in the Thomasville Middle School cafeteria. For more information call 636-5673.

PHHS reunion meeting

A class reunion meeting for the Pine Hill High School class of 1978 will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20 at the nutrition center in Catherine. Those attending please be on time. Retired educators' meeting

The Clarke County Education Retirees Association will meet at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at The Garden in Thomasville. The program will be presented by the District 6 director. Host and hostesses will be Diane Downey, Barbara Ford, James Gunn, Janice Jackson and JoAnn Stephens.

Lobbying Network meeting

Area III, which includes the Clarke County Education Retirees Association, will hold its 2008 AERA Lobbying Network meeting at 9:30 a.m., Jan. 17, at Reid State Technical College in Evergreen.

Cattlemen's meeting

The Clarke County Cattlemen's Association will hold its annual steak dinner at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Clarke Preparatory School in Grove Hill. Guest speaker will be Leroy native Dr. Billy Powell, executive vice president of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association.

Scholarship application

The Clarke County Soil and Water Conservation District is now accepting applications for a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Alabama Conservation District Employees Association. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a high school senior and living in the state of Alabama. Applications are available at most high school counselors' offices or may be picked up at the district office at 3100 Highway 43, Suite B, in Jackson. Deadline to receive completed applications is March 7. For more information call 251-246-0245, ext. 3.

Medical fund

A medical fund for cancer surgery and treatment has been opened at First United Security Bank for Phyliss and Eric Leeton Sr. He is out of work and facing huge medical expenses. Donations are tax deductible.

Joshua Hill memorial fund

A fund has been set up for the family of Joshua Wayne Hill of Thomasville who was killed in a vehicle accident. Memorials may be made to Sweet Water State Bank for the Joshua Hill Children's Trust Fund.

ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636-9985.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.
