      Six-year-old Parker Coopwood of Thomasville shot his first deer on Christmas eve while hunting with his daddy and his paw-paw in Nanafalia. Parker is in the first grade at Thomasville Elementary and is the son of Mark and DeWana Coopwood.

      Chase Joiner, 8, killed his first deer over the holidays while hunting with his father. Chase is the son of Joe and Wendy Joiner of Thomasville and is in the third grade at Thomasville Elementary School.

Lady Tigers down Jackson to maintain hold on area lead

      The Thomasville High School Lady Tiger basketball team traveled to Jackson this past Friday, January 11, and defeated the Lady Aggies of Jackson High School 43 - 39 in another key area match-up. With the win the Thomasville Ladies remained perfect in area play with a 3 - 0 record.

      Clarke County Commissioner Paul Bradford congratulates Thomasville High School coach Jack Hankins at last week's commission meeting. Hankins guided the THS football team to the semi-finals of the state playoffs in 2007.
