1099-G forms can be printed online

As of Jan. 9, those who have received unemployment compensation benefits in Alabama will be able to access and print their 1099-G tax document from the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations website.

"Any claimant who was paid benefits during the 2007 calendar year may log onto dir.alabama. gov and click on '1099 G Tax Document Available Here!' at the top center of the home page," said Tom Surtees, Alabama Department of Industrial Relations director. "Once a claimant views the document, whether it is printed or not, no 1099-G tax form will be mailed to that claimant by Industrial Relations."

On Jan. 17, Industrial Rela - tions will begin printing and mail ing all 1099-G forms that have not been accessed electronically, in order to meet the federal requirements for claimants to receive the 1099-G form by Jan. 31.
