Tigers suffer first loss of season
Dairl Jackson was the scoring leader for the Tigers in the loss pouring in 17 points. He was followed by Antron Holt with 10 points, Tacory Marshall with eight and Tysean Thompson with seven. Marshall was the leader on the boards with 16 followed by Jackson with eight. The Tigers didn't let the one point loss get them down bouncing back on Saturday, January 12, with a 65 - 57 road win over the McIntosh High School Demons to improve their season record to 10 - 1. Once again it was Dairl Jackson leading the Tigers' scoring attack with 18 points. Antron Holt was next with 10 points while Tacory Marshall and Tysean Thompson both pumped in nine points. Holt led the way on the boards with eight rebounds followed by Jackson with seven. Prior to their loss to the Aggies the Tigers had picked up two key area wins having defeated the Escambia County Blue Devils 75 - 55 on Friday January 4, and the Monroe County Tigers 57 - 54 on Monday, January 7. In the win over the Blue Devils Tysean Thompson had the hot hand racking up 29 points followed by Dairl Jackson with 18 points. Antron Holt and Tacory Marshall were next with nine points each while Alex Buford added eight. Holt was the leader on the boards with 10 followed by Jackson with eitht. Antron Holt led the way for the Tigers in the win over Monroe County recording his second double/double of the season with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Dairl Jackson followed him in scoring with 12 points while Markell Watters added 10 points and Tacory Marshall accounted for seven.
The Tigers have three more road games on their schedule this week traveling to Atmore on Tuesday, January 15, to play Escambia County; to Monroeville on Friday, January, 18 to play Monroe County; and to Grove Hill on Saturday January 19 to take on Clarke County.
