      The Southwest Alabama Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the newly opened offices of Dr. Nina E. Tocci doing business as Midsouth Psychological Services, Inc. The office is located on Wilson Avenue in downtown Thomasville.

Pine Hill seeking $375,000 for sewer field expansion

      Pine Hill will be seeking a $375,000 grant for expanding its sewer treatment spray field. "ADEM is demanding that we increase our spray field," said Mayor Harry Mason. The state environmental agency has told the town to increase the spray field to improve treatment.

Snow day facts
      Highway 69 in Clarke County and county roads north of Highway 84 were closed for several hours Saturday by the Alabama Department of Transportation and the Clarke County Road Department due to the snow and ice. Highway 17 in Choctaw County was also closed for a time due to the snow.
