Malone in the running to be a Clinton primary delegate again

Linda Malone
Lynda Malone was a Bill Clinton presidential delegate in 1992 and 1996 and she hopes to be one in 2008 for his wife, Hillary Rodam Clinton, Democratic candidate for president.

"I believe Hillary Clinton is most qualified to become the next president of the United States and I would appreciate the opportunity to help Alabama cast their votes for her," Malone, a life-long Grove Hill resident said.

She is running as a delegate from the First Congressional District in the Feb. 5 Alabama presidential primary.

Malone is no stranger to politics. She was also an Al Gore delegate in 2000 and has been active in the Democratic Party on the local and state levels for years.

She is the current vice chairperson of the Clarke County Executive Democratic Committee and serves on the state Executive Committee. She is a former elected member of the Clarke County School Board and served as its president.

She is also a former president of the Alabama Education Association. "You learn a lot about politics when you serve as AEA president," she laughingly observed.

She continues to do civic and community work in Grove Hill and Clarke County.

"I would appreciate everyone's vote and support," she said.
