T'ville native Dixon selected to be 341st Medical Group commander
Lieutenant Colonel Dixon is currently serving as the Chief, Medical Support Division and Command Administrator for Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott Air Force Base IL. She leads all healthcare management activities of the Air Force's second largest major command, including 11 medical treatment facilities in the United States and the worldwide Aeromedical Evacuation System. She programs for all resources to meet AMC medical missions and executes a $292M operations and maintenance budget. She manages the human resources function for 6,400 medical personnel valued at over $474M. Lieutenant Colonel Dixon is responsible for health benefits and policy for over 429,000 Department of Defense beneficiaries. She manages the command's medical logistics and medical information systems programs valued at over $294M; $78M War Reserve Material and a $25M facility enhancement program. Lieutenant Colonel Dixon is projected to pin on Colonel 1 March 2008 and is projected to take command this summer.
Lieutenant Colonel Dixon was commissioned in the Medical Service Corps in November 1988 and entered active duty in January 1989. She is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Talladega College in 1982, a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa in 1985 and a Masters of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1988. She is board certified in healthcare administration.
