From the Editor's Desk
Bridgett, a board certified music therapist, amazes me with her musical knowledge and talent. I played the trumpet, barely, while in middle school, and I remember hours and hours of piano practice as a small child. I wasn't the one practicing on the piano, but I had two older sisters who did. I can appreciate all the hours of practice it takes to get good at playing a musical instrument. And there's a lot of folks around these parts who've done just that. The annual Fall Festival in Fulton puts a wide array of local musical talent on display every year. Madison back home Speaking of talent and hard work, Anthony Madison is back visiting in Thomasville. Madison is a cornerback and special teams player for the Pittsburgh Steelers and graduate of Thomasville High School. He'll be signing autographs at A.J.'s in Thomasville Friday from 3 p.m. To 5 p.m. And the Times' Charlie Anderson will be catching up with him in an article for next week's paper. Chivalry must die?
According to a recent article that appeared on the internet site Yahoo, chivalry may make us guys look like creeps to the modern girl. Well, I don't know about that, but I do know that my momma and daddy tried to teach me a few things, like holding a door open and walking on the street side of the sidewalk and I try to do it. Hopefully, the ladies won't think I'm a creep for it. I guess I can blame my parents if they do.
