On Feb. 1, 1958 at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church in the McVay community near Jackson, James Bertram Reeves and Mary Joyce Dungan were married.
Although they started their married life together at McVay they have lived and moved to several different places. When James joined the Army this took them to Fort Belvoir, Va. for about two years. When James returned from service he went to work with civil service in Mobile where they lived for 24 years. They became the parents of Laura Louise on April 19, 1962. Then he transferred to Nashville where they lived for nine years. On retiring from the civil service job they moved to Meridian, Miss to be close to their daughter Laura and their three grandchildren Joey, Brandy and Joy Cramblitt. They lived there until all three grandchildren were in college. Then they moved to Tulsa, Okla., there they lived for three years, then moved to a small community, Surginer, near Dixons Mills for two years.
Their love for McVay has brought them back there to live their retirement years. They invite all friends and family to visit whenever they can.
