The Alabama Cooperative Extension System funded by Resource Conservation and Development has awarded Thomasville High School and Alabama Southern Community College a $5,000 grant. The grant money has been used to purchase promotional materials for both portable displays and a seven-foot display that is located in the lobby of Thomasville High School.

The Thomasville High School Dual Enrollment Program is designed to market the opportunity for high school students to take college coursework at Alabama Southern Community College while earning dual credit for high school coursework. The City of Thomasville provides scholarships for this program for students who meet the guidelines set forth by the Dual Enrollment Committee. Sandra Williams serves as the project director for Thomasville High School and Leta Stephens serves as the project director for Alabama Southern Community College.

Both Alabama Southern Community College and Thomasville High School expressed a special thank you to Norman Burton from Alabama-Tombigbee Resource Conservation and Development for his assistance in getting the grant for the project. The time to enroll for next year's Dual Enrollment Program will be arriving soon so for those who are interested, please contact Sandra Williams 636-4451 or Leta Stephens 637-3220.
