First week in February has lots of deadlines in store

"Be a real person" and "The key to success is failure" the anonymous artist strikes again!

Congratulations to the Bteam boys on a great record of 18-0! The boys defeated the Clarke County bulldogs on Monday night in Grove Hill. The girls also defeated their opponents, the Lady Bulldogs. The varsity boys, however, could not pull out a victory, but kudos to you all for a great season! The ladies will be playing in the area tournament at home on Thursday.

In other sports news, the softball girls are selling spirit shirts. T-shirts are $12 and all orders are due Feb. 1.

Preparations for the Beauty Review are well under way and it looks like this year will be quite another hit! Any students involved in the talent portion of the Beauty Review should see the schedule posted by Mrs. Newton's door for practice times. Also, talent T-shirts are $5 and the last day to pay is Feb 1.

Beauties in the show, please do not forget your survey is due on Friday, Feb. 1! You will have practice on Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 5 and 7, immediately following school. Please be on time and ready to practice your walk!

As for our community, do not forget the Beauty Review will be on February 15 and 16. On Friday night the talent portion of the pageant will be showcased. On Saturday night, the entire show will be performed in its entirety, including the announcement of Top Beauty and Most Handsome. Contact the THS office for ticket information.

Students and parents, please be mindful to the fact all class fees are due on Friday, Feb 1!

Attention seniors! Spring is a very important time of the year for us all. Deadlines, lots of them, are coming up soon. Here are just a few:

- Feb. 1 - Last day for scholarship applications at Alabama Southern Community College. Also, this is the last day for seniors to sign up for the senior Relay for Life team.

- Feb. 5 - Senior shirt money is due to Mrs. Maroney. T-shirts are $13.50.

- Feb. 8 - All senior ad information is due to Miss Scruggs.

Also, the senior class thanks Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Stephens and Dr. Moore from ASCC for their presentation of information on Tuesday. The trio helped seniors in the quest for scholarships, grants and instructed on the "in's and out's" of the FAFSA.

Seniors, please be aware of, not only THS deadlines approaching soon, but also, deadlines at the schools with which you are corresponding. And do not forget, fill out the FAFSA!
