OBITUARIES John D. Gill John D. Gill, 77, of Walker Springs, died January 29, 2008, at an area healthcare facility. Mr. Gill was born Feb. 13, 1930. He was a native of Jackson and was a salesman for Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes. Mr. Gill was a member and deacon of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson and was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. The funeral was held 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson with the Rev. Don Rushing and the Rev. E.C. Russell officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Mr. Gill is survived by his wife, Eloise E. Gill of Walker Springs; two sons, Darren (Nancy) Gill and David (Jeannie) Gill, all of Walker Springs; two daughters, Myra (Craig) Smith of Orlando, Fla. and Bunnie (David) Lazenby of Monroeville; one sister, Peggy Bracken of Brewton; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jeff Creel, Dick Creel, Danny Gill, John Brackin, Ashley Milstead, Mickey Arnold, Jack Greer and Dixon Greer. Honorary pallbearers were Men's III Sunday School Class and Prayer Group, deacons of Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Jimmy Jones, Prescott family and staff of Cedar Ridge Mobile Homes, Lloyd Harvison, Carl Gwin, Leroy Whited and Gray Milstead.
