DAR members reminisce

Mrs. Donald (Carolyn Plummer) Drennen and Mrs. Hannis (Tommie Dee) Kennedy talk about DAR.
Mrs. Hannis (Tommie Dee) Kennedy and Mrs. Donald (Carolyn Plummer) Drennen, a native of Grove Hill, enjoyed visiting at a recent District DAR meeting in Montgomery and exchanged Clarke County memories.

Mrs. Drennen stated that every since she has been old enough for the term "DAR" to be meaningful, she has associated "Mrs. Tommie Dee" with Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Kennedy's love for the organization has been an inspiration to Mrs. Drennen, as well as to many other members of DAR.

Mrs. Kennedy, who is 94, joined DAR Feb. 1, 1946. She has served in almost every office of the Elizabeth Bradford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was regent for 11 terms. Mrs. Kennedy presently serves the Elizabeth Bradford Chapter as chaplain.

Mrs. Drennen, who now lives in Birmingham, is a member of the General Sumter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
