Arts Council workshops planned in Grove Hill

Grove Hill Arts Council will host two workshops in March, made possible by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment of the Arts.

On Friday, March 7, at Grove Hill town hall, the third annual "Turning Art Into Business" Workshop, will be held.

Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9, a photography workshop with Chip Cooper is planned.

Turning Art Into Business

Schedule for the first event, "Turning Art Into Business" on March 7 is:

1 p.m. - Do's and don'ts of grant writing. Who, what and how to apply for grants. Presented by Randy Shoults ASCA.

2 p.m. - How to publish and market a book. Presented by University of Alabama Printing.

3 p.m. - Experiences of publishing a book. Presented by Chip Cooper and others.

The workshop is open to the public with limited seating. To register or for more information, call Grove Hill Chamber at 251-275-4188 or Terry Norris at 251-275-3816.

Schedule for the two-day photography workshop is:

Saturday, March 8

9 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Composition "What Makes a Good Photograph?"

Lunch 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Field trip shoot

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Discussion

Sunday, March 9

1 p.m. - 3 p.m. - Critique of Photographs and wrap up
