Paul Noble and Kenny Sanders made a statement about their future this past week when they both signed letters of intent to continue their education and play baseball at the collegiate level next year. It all took place in a signing ceremony held at Thomasville High School on Wednesday, January 30. Noble who signed with Okaloosa Walton Community College out of Niceville, Florida was recruited by the Raiders as a two way player who will be given the opportunity to earn playing time as both a pitcher and infielder. Sanders who signed with Meridian Community College out of Meridian, Miss. will be counted on by the Eagles to add some offensive punch to their lineup as he earns playing time either in the outfield or at first base.
In their past two years as members of the Tiger varsity baseball team Noble and Sanders along with their teammates accumulated a combined record of 51 wins and 15 losses with two trips to the State Playoffs. This past season they were both major contributors as juniors on the Tiger baseball team that posted a 27 - 6 record and advanced to the first round of the AHSAA State Playoffs.

Individually as a pitcher in the 2007 season Noble posted a team best 9 and 1 record with 2 saves and a 1.09 era. In doing so he recorded 62 strikeouts while walking 36 batters. On the offensive side of the ledger he scored 20 runs had 29 hits and four homeruns with a .326 batting average and a .517 slugging percentage.
Meanwhile Sanders, who was in a platooning situation last season, particularly early in the year, scored 16 runs had 15 hits and 4 homeruns with a .349 batting average and an exceptionally good .744 slugging percentage.
With their signings the list of Thomasville Tiger Baseball players that have signed scholarships and taken their skill on the diamond on to the collegiate level has now reached 65 with 46 of those coming in the last 20 years. In that number there are 11 who are currently playing at the college level. Beyond that, the program has a legacy in professional baseball as well with six players who have come out of the Thomasville High School baseball program over that same 20 year span having played professional baseball including three who are still active.
