CHURCH CALENDAR
Mt. Vernon Baptist Church will hold a gospel singing at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, featuring the Glory Road Quartet and others. The church is located 3 miles north of Thomasville on Highway 5. Everyone is invited to attend. Marriage and singles banquet Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill will host a marriage and singles banquet at 7 p.m., Feb. 16 at Preschool Unlimited (the old skating rink in Jackson) Guest speaker will be Pastor Effelle Williams of Selma. Tickets are $25 for couples and $15 for singles. Black history program St. Union Missionary Baptist Church of Jackson will host its annual Black History Program at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17. Love Day Program The Living Church of God in Thomasville will honor its church mother, Mother Marevia Johnson at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Thomasville High School auditorium. Wild game dinner The Thomasville Baptist Church men's ministry will host its annual men and boys Beast Feast 2008, a wild game dinner, at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 29 with guest speaker Phil "The Duck Commander" Robertson. New church The Churches of Jesus Christ announce the starting of a new congregation in the Thomasville area. As of yet, a building hasn't been secured and services are being held in private homes.
