THS girls move on to sub-region

      The Thomasville High School Lady Tiger basketball team had their hopes of winning a 4A Area 1 Tournament Championship come to an end this past Saturday, February 9, when the Jackson High School Lady Aggies came from behind late in the fourth quarter to defeat them 40 - 35.

      The Thomasville High School Tigers traveled to the South end of the county and defeated the Jackson Aggies 69 - 65 on Monday, February 11, to win the 4A Area 1 Tournament Championship.

Coopwood's first rabbit
      Abigail Coopwood shot her first rabbit while hunting with her daddy and her brother Parker in Nanafalia. Abigail is 4 years old and goes to pre-school at The Learning Center in Thomasville. She is the daughter of Mark and DeWana Coopwood.

First McNider tournament nets 46 boats
      Jeff Newton of Camden reports that the February 9th tournament, the first of Bruce McNiders 2008 Mcnider Marine Tournament Trail, was a success with 46 boats entering. The contestants launched at first light from the Demopolis City Landing fishing the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers.
