Worthwhile Club learns about Asera Care and volunteer service

On Feb. 13, at 2 p.m., the Worthwhile Club met for its monthly meeting. Hostesses were Jen Bethea, Ann Hamilton and Jane Loper. They served cherry cheesecake with coffee. Fifteen members were present.

The Pledge of Allegiance to our American Flag was led by Jane Loper. The devotional was given by Ann Dozier.

Ray Jordan, director of Volunteer Services for Asera Care spoke on volunteer service for Hospice under this program. He said that sending cards, running errands, baking goods, etc. were ways to support the terminally ill under hospice.

Order of business included the reading of the minutes and the treasurer's report. The upcoming DYS party, appointing a nominating committee and making robes for the nursing home were discussed.

The meeting adjourned with the reading of the club collect by Rosa Lee Overstreet.
