Ackerman signs with U. of Mobile
The University of Mobile Lady Rams softball team inked Thomasville's Tess Ackerman for the 2009 season. Ackerman played softball and volleyball at Clarke Prep School and is looking forward to joining a championship caliber program. "I really liked Coach (Terri) McCormick and she made me feel real comfortable," Ackerman said. "They have a very successful program with a national championship, and I'm looking forward to being a part of that." The middle infielder qualified for the State Softball Tournament all four years at Clarke, and won the State Championship in volleyball each year. The past two seasons, Ackerman was named All-State in both sports. In softball, Ackerman has been named the team's best infielder, MVP and captain. She also won the MVP award for volleyball and was named MVP of the Volleyball
