Women's business and entrepreneur workshop

The Grove Hill Area Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Business Center, Inc. will host a women's business and entrepreneur workshop from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, March 6. The workshop, titled "Coffee with Sylvia" will be conducted by Sylvia Browder and is free to anyone who would like to attend. The discussion for the workshop will be problems Women Small Business Owners Face (and the solutions!). The workshop will be held at the Helms House next to the Clarke County Museum. Blood drive

Pineview Baptist Church, 28 Moore Street in Thomasville, will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, March 7. As a special thanks all donors will receive an American Red Cross T-shirt and will also be entered to win a cruise for two with round-trip domestic Delta Air Line tickets.

AHS alumni to meet

The Annemanie High School Alumni Association will meet at 5:50 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at St. Paul P.B. Church of Pine Hill. All former graduates and schoolmates are urged to attend the meeting.

Career fair

Alabama Southern Healthcare Alliance Career Fair will be held on Feb. 28 at the Thomasville campus. Representatives will be set up in the Alabama- Tombigbee Conference Center on the Thomasville campus. The Alabama-Tombigbee Conference Center is located in the main administration building. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, ASCC is hosting the career fair from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Scholarship application

The Clarke County Soil and Water Conservation District is now accepting applications for a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Alabama Conservation District Employees Association. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a high school senior and living in the state of Alabama. Applications are available at most high school counselors' offices or may be picked up at the district office at 3100 Highway 43, Suite B, in Jackson. Deadline to receive completed applications is March 7. For more information call 251-246-0245, ext. 3.

Fire rescue fund-raiser

South Marengo County Fire and Rescue Squad will host a fund-raiser from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, March 1 at the squad hall at 34818 Highway 10 (mile marker 36). Grilled turkey breasts (weight 7 pounds) will be sold for $20 each. Delivery is available up to a 15-mile radius. ANON Meets

AL-ANON meets every Thursday night at 6:30 at Pineview Baptist Church (enter door at Moore Street entrance behind church). For more information call 636-9985.

Homework assignments

Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School homework assignments are posted by all teachers each week. They are published by 4 p.m. every Monday for that week.
