LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Please support ambulance here

Dear Editor,

The Southwest Alabama Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that works to help the hospital and nursing home in many different capacities. We have gladly given countless hours and dollars to help the patients and residents.

We recently learned the possibility exists that we will be without an ambulance service very shortly if something is not done to help financially. This is very alarming. We urge the mayor, city council, hospital and nursing home board, and any others who can, to get involved to give the support needed to enable an ambulance service to continue.

Respectfully submitted Southwest Alabama Hospital Auxiliary

Thanks for helping Girl Scouts

Dear Editor:

Thomasville Cadette Girl Scout Troop 8197 extends thanks to all those who have participated in its "Gift of Caring" project.

Along with our normal cookie sales, we've asked that cookie donations be made for our military serving in Iraq. With the "Gift of Caring" project we have received donations for 132 boxes of cookies. But we still need many more in order to provide each soldier in the U.S. Army Lightning Troop with a box of their own.

Signtech and Olde Towne Coffee of Thomasville, Hebrews2 of Jackson and Kiershaw - A Division of Progress Rail on Montgomery have shown their support by donating multiple boxes of cookies. Kershaw is also helping by supplying us with the materials needed for shipping and the company is providing the actual shipping of all the cookies to Iraq.

If you would like to make a cookie donation to Lightning Troop, please call Girl Scout Cadette Leader Laura Hunt at 334-636-0962 or Co-leader Melissa Jackson at 334-830-9219.

Thank you for your support in our regular cookie sales as well.

Laura Hunt
