OUR VIEW The irony of this year's presidential race is that the Democratic primary is so close that all eyes were on Mississippi of all places this week. Maybe our state officers should just stick to economic development. That seems to be working pretty well for us these days. Boeing and a whole lot of folks over on the west coast are hopping mad over EADS and Northrup winning the Air Force tanker deal. And why shouldn't they be? If we all lived in the rural areas of Washington near Seattle, we'd probably be feeling the same way right about now. But as the saying goes, one man's pork... As it stands right now, south Alabama stands to gain 2,000 new jobs on top of the monster ThyssenKrupp deal.
Folks around these parts aren't hopping mad, they're jumping for joy. And sometimes, that's just the way it goes.
