Spiritual Reflections
Sometimes when we question why, it is God at work. Romans 5:2-5 says, "…And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us…" God has a plan for each of us. We don't know His plan. We are so captured by the day to day, that we lose sight of the fact that He is working to bring about His plan. His plan is to use us to glorify Him. Joseph had many troubles in his life, but God was using them to bring about His plan. "What man meant for evil God used for good." Joseph walked with God through all of the adversity. Because he walked with God, he did not miss God's "utmost." Last Sunday, Roland Asabrim, one of our students at the seminary, was killed when struck by a truck, while traveling on his motorbike. Roland had a special place in my heart. He was quiet, unassuming, humble and committed to obedience to God. He walked with God. The Bible tells us that, "Enoch walked with God, and was no more for God took him." None of us know God's plan for us. But if we walk with God we won't miss it. What did walking with God bring Roland? Matthew 25:23, "Well done good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness." Paul said, in Philippians 1:20, "I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death."
Walk with God and I'll see you in church.
