Game two of the twin-bill saw TMS use three pitchers with Cory Orr, who started the game, picking up the win. Steffan Chapman followed Orr to the mound and worked 1 2/3 innings in which he allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three. Hunter Jackson closed the game striking out one hitter in 1/3 inning of work. On offense Hunter Jackson set the pace for the Tigers with two hits. In the RBI category Charleston led the way with three followed by Dement and Jackson with two each. The game with Sweet Water proved to be a good one just as the doubleheader split between the two teams early in the season had been. In this one the two teams were tied twice during the game before the Tigers scored three in the sixth to put it away. Hunter Jackson who started for the Tigers picked up the win working six innings in which he allowed three runs on eight hits and one hit batsman while striking out three. Tevin Watters who closed the game earned a save giving up one hit and striking out two in one inning on the hill. On offense the Tigers recorded five hits with John Knight leading the charge with two while Steffan Chapman, Ryan Cribb, and Tevin Watters all had one. For the Tigers it wasn't the number of hits that made the difference but their timeliness. In the extra-base hit area Knight had a pair of triples while Chapman had a double. Chapman was the RBI leader with three followed by Knight with two and Watters with one.
On the agenda this week the 4 - 2 TMS Tigers were scheduled to travel to Demopolis for a doubleheader with Demopolis Middle School on Monday, March 10, and then return home for doubleheaders with Wilson Hall Middle School on Wednesday, March 12, and Martin Middle School on Friday, March 14.
