Clarke HIPPY program reviewed

The HIPPY Clarke County program was recently reviewed by HIPPY USA national trainer, Gail Jones, on March 11-12, 2008. During this follow-up site visit, Mrs. Jones evaluated the program to determine if the activities and practices meet HIPPY USA's mission and HIPPY program guidelines.

Mrs. Jones first visited the site in October, 2007, to provide the initial training of the parent educators. Mrs. Jones stated that the site is "an exceptional site of stellar practices."

The purpose of this review was to assess if high quality services are being implemented that result in the outcomes/impacts that are outlined in the HIPPY Model. The program operations addressed were home visits, group meetings, role playing/curriculum, staffing/training/supervision, administration, outreach and collaboration, and documentation.

To gain insight into the operations of the program, Jane Sellers, Coordinator of the program, scheduled home visits for Mrs. Jones, provided access to family folders, and demonstrated documentation procedures.
