TVFD thanks supporters

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Thomasville Volunteer Fire Department we would like to take a moment and say a special thanks to all those who made the Lucky Day Fireman Festival a success. It was great fun for the kids and for the firemen.

We would like to thank the owners of Old Peoples Corner for the use of the building, and to Charlie Gaston for his help with our menu for the evening.

Thanks also to those who made it possible for the Jaws of Life exhibition.

The firemen enjoyed demonstrating their abilities and equipment. A special thank you to a special fireman (and you know who you are) who provided the children's games. Last, but not least, a big thank you to Crist Sperling, his wife Kim and daughter Sally who came through at the last minute to provide entertainment for the evening. The event would not have been a success without each of you. Thanks again for your time and your gifts.

Congratulations to all the winners of our children's parade. Your decorations were fun and festive. We look forward to training these future firemen.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the American Cancer Society and our local Relay for Life Campaign. The Firemen will be holding another fund-raiser in April at Gaston's Grill so make plans to bring your family out to eat on the night of April 7 and be waited on by a fireman at Gaston's Grill. Details can be found in this issue of the Thomasville Times on how you can join us in the fight against cancer.
