Litter clean up on Old Hwy. 5 called a success
More than 100 People joined together and cleaned 13 miles of Old Highway 5, from the city limits of Grove Hill to the city limits of Thomasville over the course of two days this weekend. Virginia Harrigan, one of the event's organizers, said 4.5 tons of trash were weighed in, requiring approximately 600 trash bags, two dumpsters and two dump trucks to carry it all away. "All involved deserve a thank you, cheers and celebration," Harrigan said. "Residents and friends of Old 5 now offer a challenge to all the other roads in Clarke County to match this accomplishment and help PALS in the 2008 Spring Clean Up."
