OBITUARIES Ida Mae Boyette Ida Mae Boyette, 83, of Grove Hill died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Boyette was born April 15, 1924, in Grove Hill. She was a homemaker. The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 22, at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Smith and the Rev. Fred Wiley officiating. Burial was in Bassett Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Grove Hill. Mrs. Boyette is survived by two sons, Alex Forest Boyette of Beatrice and Samuel Allen Boyette of Grove Hill; two daughters, Genise Calloway of Mobile and Peggie Mae Black of Nicholsville; five brothers, Emmett Gray Baugh of Grove Hill, Tommy Lee Baugh of Grove Hill, Leon Baugh of Grove Hill, Jesse Ray Baugh of Grove Hill and Alvin Clay Baugh of Thomasville; 17 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Paul LePiane, Danny Shaw, Mike Alfonsie, John Shaw, Buddy Boy Deason and Darren Baugh. Honorary pallbearers were James Overton, Bill Honeycutt and James McCoy. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directed. Bobby Coleman Little Bobby Coleman Little, 70, of Putnam, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at his home. Mr. Little was born April 1, 1937 in Morvin. He was a retired calibration technician for the Army. Graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at Forest Springs Cemetery in Morvin with the Rev. Brooks Etheridge officiating. Mr. Little is survived by three sons, Robert Little, Richard Little and Randall Little, all of Huntsville; one daughter, Gabrielle Clark of Huntsville; his mother, Jewel Little of Putnam; one brother, Trice Little of Orange Beach; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. McConnell was the shepherd mother of Glorious Temple and Pugh Success Chapter OES. The funeral was held at 1 p.m., March 22, at Mt. Sinai. Burial was in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Mrs. McConnell is survived by six sons, Jessie, Bishop Raymond, Willie Lee McConnell, all of Lower Peach Tree, Royallee, Robert McConnell of Milwaukee, Wis., and Elder Melvin McConnell of Jackson, Miss.; five daughters, Ollie Mae of Jackson, Alberta McConnell of Lower Peach Tree, Annie D. McConnell of Milwaukee, Shelly Mims of St. Louis, Mo. and Mable Timmons of Montgomery; one brother, Ruby Davis of Milwaukee; two brothers, Bernice Jenkins of St. Louis and Pearl Davis; 37 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Deborah Kim Greer Salter Deborah Kim Greer Salter, 46, of Pine Hill, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville. Mrs. Salter was born Nov. 26, 1961. She was a native of Jackson. She was a clerk for Thomasville Chevron and was a former nurse at Jackson Healthcare Facility in Jackson. Mrs. Salter was also a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Jackson. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27 at the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson prior to the service, which will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 29 at McIntyre Family Cemetery in McIntosh. Mrs. Salter is survived by her husband, Thomas Salter of Pine Hill; one son, Casey Salter of Pine Hill; her mother, Sharon Greer of McIntosh; one brother, Carl Sandy Greer of Eight Mile; and one sister, Barbara Greer Norcross of Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Salter was preceded in death by one son, Courtney Peyton; and her father Samuel Wilson Greer. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson is directing. Charlie Earl Staten Charlie Earl Staten, 75, of Magnolia, died March 14, 2008 at his home. Mr. Staten was a retired carpenter. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., March 29, at Rock Springs Presbyterian Church with V.L. Hackworth Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Hearne, Texas. Mr. Staten is survived by his wife, Beatrice Lagroe of Magnolia; one son, Charles Staten of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Marvin Staten of Jennings, La. and Melvin Staten of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Martha Wade of Hearne, Texas, Jewel Matthew of Big Spring, Texas and Della Chatman of Lawton, Okla.; and seven grandchildren. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville directed. Jessie Lean West Jessie Lean West, 82, of Thomasville, died March 17, 2008 in Mobile. The funeral was held at 1 p.m., March 22, at Church of God in Christ in Thomasville with Minister Edie Pugh officiating. Burial was in Thomasville COGIC Cemetery. Mrs. West is survived by two sons, Abraham West Jr. and Ike West; five daughters, Willie D. Young, Dorothy Shamburger, Goldie Blanks, Geraldine James and Glendora West; one sister, Bernice Smith; 27 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Christopher James, Troy Blanks, Ronal Tobbert, Timothy Harris, Paul James, Patrick Smith and Kenneth Harris.
