You might be a terrorist...
Arthur McLean
You hear it every election cycle, state moaning about how much it costs to hold an election, or primary or what have you.

Democracy is not cheap my friends. It costs millions and millions of our tax dollars to hold one. Makes me wonder when we'll start seeing corporate sponsorships like they do with everything else under the sun.

One day, you may well walk into a voting booth with a little electronic touch screen and before you can press a button casting your vote for your favorite candidate, you might hear something like, "thanks for voting today, but first a word from our sponsor..."

Just think, the U.S. Presidential primaries in Alabama could be sponsored by Mercedes, ThyssenKrupp and Hyundai. That would probably stick somewhere on the side of irony, I'd have to say.

Music

I heard the other day that the music kids hear the most during their earliest years is the music they will likely most identify with once they get older. Parents, think about the music your kids are listening to right now. You know some day, they'll have kids of their own. Guess what the grandkids will likely be listening to when they come to visit? That thought alone probably has plenty of folks running for ear plugs.

March Madness

Well, once again, my alma mater, the University of South Alabama failed to make it out of the first round of the NCAA tournament. As we fans like to say, maybe next year..

You might be a terrorist

As if England's attempts to keep track of its population's every movement with security cameras all over the place, now the London police have posters warning folks that that person with a camera could be a terrorist just as easily as a tourist.

Here's the text:

Thousands of people take photographs every day. What if one of them seems odd?

Terrorists use surveillance to help plan attacks, taking photos and making notes about security measures like the location of CCTV cameras. If you see someone doing that we need to know. Let experienced Officers decide what action to take.

As one person wrote on the Internet, about 90 percent of the photographers he new were a little "odd."

Yep.
