Lady Tigers blank ECHS

The Thomasville High School Lady Tiger varsity softball team improved their season mark to 11 - 4 and their area one record to 2 - 0 this past Thursday, March 20 when they defeated the Lady Blue Devils from Escambia County 6 - 0 in a game played here in Thomasville. The game was knotted 0 - 0 after three innings but the Lady Tigers scored three in the fourth to break the tie on their way to the victory.

Savannah Smith picked up the win on the mound for Thomasville improving her season record to 6 - 3. In seven innings she gave up three hits and one walk while striking out 12. At the plate Shelby Myers, Brianna Penn, Savannah Smith, Nicole Washington, and Rachel Wright all had one hit to pace the Lady Tiger offense. In the extra-base hit category Washington and Wright each had a double. Myers was the RBI leader with two followed by Penn and Smith with one apiece.

After taking a week off for spring break the Lady Tigers will return to action again on Thursday, April 3 when they travel to Jackson for another important area match-up. Following that they will participate in the Tombigbee Classic being co-hosted by Jackson and Leroy on Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5.
