Still siezed in Morvin
The still was estimated to produce over $100,000-a-year of the sale of untaxed whiskey, said Ron Baggett, chief investigator with the Sheriff's Department. At the scene there were 660 gallons of sour mash, 600 lbs. of sugar, 200 lbs. of corn, 100 plastic containers, 12 barrels, and 14 gallons of moonshine. There was also a 500-gallon cooker seized in the raid. Arrested was Emanuel Tate for the possession of the illegal still, which is a felony under Alabama Law, Baggett said.
The operation consisted of agents with ABC, and Baggett, K-9 Deputy Jim Mundie, and Deputy Chris Whitfield of the Sheriff's Department.
